Can my spouse pull a credit report on me?

Except in very unusual circumstances, spouses generally may not pull one another’s credit reports.

In order to pull a credit or background report on someone, you must have permission or a permissible purpose under the Fair Credit Reporting Act. The Fair Credit Reporting Act does not provide any authority for spouses to pull each other’s reports, unless they have written permission to do so, or unless there is a legally allowed reason.
